To top off a great weekend of diving. James took Brian and I to the Eagle's Nest on Sunday. What a beautiful cavern and cave system. What a great honor to dive this system with James and everyone else. Next time, I just don't want to be the last truck on the drive. The drive, by the way, is at least half the adventure. Our dive plan was 240/15. We used a very hot mix of 17/50 because Brian loves the good stuff. My overall runtime was 76 minutes with a maximum depth of 230'. The tables called for a 69 minute runtime but I added some time after deco to clear my air computer.

We entered the pool and headed for the solution tubes at about 30'. What an incredible feeling it was to drift through the solution tube and end up in an enormous cavern at 120'. From the top of the debris cone we headed to the upstream tunnel. We ended up only doing about 200' of penetration. I believe we turned the dive at Piton Rock. Although, I am sure it has many names. The rock is usually at 235' but the water level is significantly down right now.

After exiting the tunnel we swan around the debris cone at about 160' and headed for the downstream side of the debris cone. We found the alligator bones. That was pretty cool. However, I am not sure I would want to encounter a live alligator there during a dive.

After drifting up from the debris cone we got on or deco schedule at 150 and finished the dive uneventfully. I loved doing deco here. I probably could have fallen asleep on the log at 20.
