TampaDiving.com believes that a proper float plan avoids much needless worry on the part of boater's friends and family. In addition, a float plan dramatically reduces response time if an on-water emergency occurs. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, please read our article, Float Planning Basics. Our Online Float Planner is a free, interactive service that makes the process easy.

Here’s How It Works

  • To create, retrieve and update your float plan, begin by providing a user name and password if you have not already registered with us.
  • Click on Create a Float Plan and follow the instructions in the Planner.
  • Save your float plan to store it in your My TampaDiving.com information. If you File it, we automatically e-mail your float plan and a unique guardian-only username and password to your guardians.
  • Update your float plan as you arrive at each waypoint. If you don’t have internet access from your boat or from your check-in point, your float plan guardian(s) can update it for you.
  • Close out your float plan by checking in at your final waypoint to indicate that your trip has ended.
  • Retrieve your last float plan and update the information as needed for your next trip.
TampaDiving.com respects your privacy and confidential information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Your profile and float plan are confidential and will not be shared with anyone other than your float plan guardians or search and rescue personnel as necessary.
